DIMO Academy Partners with HomeServe Germany to Empower Sri Lankan Youth with Global Career Opportunities

 DIMO Academy, the vocational training arm of Sri Lanka’s diversified conglomerate DIMO, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with HomeServe Germany, a leading HVAC company offering installation, home repair, maintenance, and insurance services. This collaboration is set to enhance vocational education in Sri Lanka by providing globally recognized qualifications and assured job placements in Germany’s thriving building service industry for local youth.

Under this initiative, DIMO Academy will deliver a world-class qualification aligned with strict German vocational standards, culminating in a German Diploma in Plant Engineering accredited by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK). Graduates will also undergo German language training to prepare for seamless integration into Germany's workforce. Upon successful program completion, certified graduates will secure employment with HomeServe Germany as skilled experts in the building service sector.

This partnership addresses the rising global demand for building service technicians, especially in HVAC, fueled by the focus on energy efficiency, sustainable construction, and urbanization. Germany, in particular, faces a significant skills shortage in this domain due to its high standards and emphasis on renewable technologies.

To support this program, DIMO has invested in an ultra-modern training facility in Peliyagoda, set to open in February 2025. The facility will feature cutting-edge technological resources to ensure students receive training of the highest international standards while also uplifting the local building services industry.

Dilrukshi Kurukulasuriya, Executive Director and Chief Human Resources Officer of DIMO, highlighted the significance of this partnership: "DIMO Academy's Diplomas in Automobile Mechatronics and Plant Engineering, certified as category-A qualifications in Germany, enable graduates to work globally as technicians. This new program was introduced to create diverse global career opportunities for youth in the building services industry. With structured industrial training, an updated syllabus, German-qualified trainers, and rigorous assessments, DIMO Academy ensures its students meet global standards."
