The prestigious DIMO Academy for Technical Skills (DATS), recently held its 30th graduation ceremony at BMICH with the presence of His Excellency, Holger Seubert, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Sri Lanka, as the chief guest.
A total of 46 graduates of the Colombo and Jaffna academies who successfully completed the Certificate program in Automobile Mechatronics and the Diploma in Automobile Mechatronics certified by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce were awarded certificates and medals in recognition of their performance.
With the aim of ‘Fuelling the Dreams and Aspirations’ of the Youth in Sri Lanka DATS was established in 1990 to develop the vocational education in the country while collaborating with Daimler AG Germany. In 2018, DATS partnered with the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka to offer German-certified vocational qualifications, opening doors to the international job market for local students. DATS is the only institute in Sri Lanka accredited by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce to offer dual vocational training according to German VET standards.
