The Titanic sank in the Atlantic Ocean on April 12, 1912, less than three hours after it hit an iceberg.
Six years after Australian mining magnate Clive Palmer declared he was going to build a replica of the Titanic, and three years after he had to suspend work on the project due to money troubles, Palmer has announced that work on the project will start up again.
The Titanic II, a replica of the ill-fated ship that sank in the Atlantic, will set sail on the same journey in 2022.
Titanic II, which is being built in China, will carry 2,400 passengers and 900 members of staff.
The ship will embark on a two-week-long maiden voyage, travelling from Dubai to Southampton, before tracing the original ship’s journey to New York.
The new ship will be a mix of modern technology and original designs, but there will be no internet connection.
