Due to Rapid increase of water of Nilwala River, one of the larger crocodiles was seen in the Weraduwa area around 10 p.m. on Sunday. Wildlife officers and the police attempted to catch the animal after reports were filed by residents.
After a long operation, the animal was captured and later released into the Nilwala River.
