VACANCIES
Recruitment of Graduates & Higher National / National English Diploma Holders to fill
the vacancies existing in the schools of Central Provincial Council - 2014
Applications are invited from graduates and Higher National or National English Diploma Holders residing in the Central Province for recruitment into Grade 3-1 of Sri Lank Teachers Service to fill the vacancies in the Primary, Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, English & Aesthetic subjects existing at Walapane, Ambagamuwa, Nuwara Eliya, Han;uranketha, Kothmale, Laggala, Pallegama, Wilgamuwa, Minipe & Ududumbara Divisional Secretariat Divisions in the Central Province.
1. A
Basic Qualifications for Recruitment
I.
Should
be a citizen of Sri Lanka
II. Should be with excellent character and good mental and
physical health
III. Should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years as at 29.08.2014.
IV. Should be a permanent resident in the Central Province
for the last 03 years before 29.08.2014.
B. Educational Qualifications for Recruitment
B 1. For graduates
I. Should have obtained a valid degree from a University
recognized by the University Grants Commission
as at
29.08.2014 according
to Sri Lanka Teaching Service Minute.
And
II. Should have passed G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) and G.C.E.
(Advanced Level) Examinations (Local) on
policy recognized by the Ministry of Education.

Should have
passed in 6 subjects at the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination with credit passes for 3 subjects including mother tongue and
Mathematics in not more
than two sittings (Should have passed in
05 subjects in one sitting).
And
·
Should have
passed 3 subjects at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in one sitting.
B 2.
Higher National / National English Diploma Holders
I. Should have passed not less
than 2 year Higher National or National Diploma conducted by Sri Lanka Higher Technology Institute under the Ministry
of Education, according to Sri Lanka Teaching
Service Minute, valid on 29.08.2014
And
·
Should have
passed G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) & G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examinations (Local) on policy recognized by the Ministry of Education
as stated below. Should have passed in 6
subjects at the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination including mother tongue & Mathematics with credit passes for 3 subjects
including English (Should have passed in
05 subjects in one sitting).
And
·
Should have
passed 3 subjects at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in one sitting.
N.B.:
Those without bask qualifications and
educational qualifications are requested not to apply and such applications
will be rejected.
2. Scheme of Recruitment and Conditions of
Service
2.1 If the number
of applications with qualifications received according to this notification,
are less
than the number of teaching vacancies existing in the
Divisional Secretariats mentioned here, those applicants
will be subjected to an interview and recruitments will be made by examining
the certificates. (Marks will not be
given at this interview). Preference
will be given to applicants from
Walapane, Ambagamuwa, Nuwara Eliya, Hanguranketha, Kothmale, Laggala, Pallegama,
Wilgamuwa, Minipe & Ududumbara Divisional Secretariat Divisions.
2.2 But, if the
number of applications with qualifications received exceeds the number of
teaching
vacancies existing for each subject
in the Divisional Secretariats mentioned here, a written examination will be held for the relevant subject (If
a written examination Is held, admission cards will be issued
to the applicants with qualifications by the Department of Examinations or
Central Provincial Public Service Commission).
2.2.1 Preference will be given to permanent residents in the Divisional
Secretariats, mentioned above and the
applicants with qualifications from other Divisional Secretariats will be
recruited according to merits of
marks obtained district level.
2.2.2 Medium
of Examination:
This
examination will be held only in "Sinhala" and "Tamil medics and medium requested by the applicants cannot be changed later.
2.2.3
Subjects for the Examination
This
examination consists of two question papers.
I.
Aptitude -
Duration 01 hour (100 marks)
(Prepared to examine language skills, logical strength and
mathematical skills)
II. General Knowledge - Duration 01 hour (100 marks)
(Prepared
to examine knowledge of Economical, Political, Educational, Cultural, Social, Scientific and Sports, important local and foreign
information of the applicant)
2.3 Examination
Fees:
Examination fee is Rs. 6001=. The receipt obtained for
the payment of this examination fee in favour of
Chief Secretary Central Province to Revenue Head No. 20-03-02-13 at any
Divisional Secretariat in the Central Province, should be posted in the correct
cage of the application and the number should
be inserted.
2.4 Candidates
selected will be recruited and appointed to grade 3.1 of the Sri Lanka Teaching
Service
of the Central Province, subject to the common conditions
governing the Government Appointments,
Common Regulations governing the appointments in the Central Provincial Public Service, conditions laid down in the Sri Lanka Teaching
Service Minute and amendments made and will
be made in the future. The monthly salary scale entitled for this post (Vide
Public Administration
Circular No. 6/2006 (iv)).
2.4.1 For
Graduates
Rs.
14,135 - 9x180 - 6x240 - 5x330 - 7x400 - 13x645 - 30,030 will be placed at 8th Step, 15,395/= monthly
2.4.2
For Higher National / National English Diploma Holders
Rs. 14,135 - 9x180 - 6x240 - 5x330 - 7x400 - 13x645 - 30,030 will be placed at the starting salary step.
2.5 Promotions
/ Service Conditions will be as per provisions in the Sri Lanka Teaching
Service Minute
published
in the Gazette Extra Ordinary No. 865/3 of 03.04.1995.
2.6 Should serve
for a minimum period of 05 years in the school appointed and could apply for a
transfer
at the end of the 05 year term.
2.7 This post is permanent and pensionable.
3. Method of Application
3.1 (i)
Application should be prepared according to the specimen form given in the
notification.
(ii) This should be prepared
on A4 size paper,
with headings 01 to 14 on the first page and headings
15 to 19 on the second page. Should be filled by the applicant.
(iii) Applications not in accordance with the given specimen
form and incomplete applications will be rejected without any notice.
3.2 Certified
copies of the undermentioned certificates should be attached to the
application-
i. Photostat copy of National Identity Card
ii. Photostat copy of Certificate of Birth.
iii. Photostat copy of the G.C.E. (OIL) certificate
iv. Photostat copy of the G.C.E. (A/L) certificate
v. Photostat copy of the Degree Certificate.
vi. Photostat copy of the certificate indicating the subjects
relevant to the Degree. Photostat copy
of the certificate by the Grama Niladhari (Counter signed by Divisional
Secretary)
3.3 Signature of
the applicant should have been attested by a Principal of a Government school,
Justice
of the Peace, Notary Public or an Officer holding a permanent post drawing a
monthly basic salary
starting from Rs. 22,935/= or above.
3.4 Duly
completed applications addressed to the Secretary, Central Provincial Ministry of
Education,
New Provincial Council Complex, Pallekele, by
registered post to reach on or before 29.08.2014.

be marked on left-hand top corner of the envelope containing the applications.
