RECRUITMENT TO THE POSTS OF BUDDER GRADE III
AND BEE KEEPER GRADE III
Applications are invited from
both females / mates who are qualified permanent residents of the Western
Province for filling the existing vacancies for the posts of Budder Grade Ml
and Bee Keeper Grade III in the Department of Agriculture of the Western Province.

3. 3.1 General Conditions
(a)
Candidates should be citizens of Sri Lanka

Should be of excellent moral character

Should be of good health
(d)
Should be a permanent resident of the Western Province
immediately prior to 20.11.2013
(e)
Those who are not less than 18 years and not more than
45 years as at the closing date of applications may apply. Should not exceed
the maximum age limit at the date of recruitment. Maximum age limit will not be
applicable to applicants who are already in Government / Local Government
permanent service. Such applicants should direct their applications through the
heads of their departments.

Should have passed in six subjects with minimum two
credit passes in not more than two sittings at the General Certificate of
Education (Ordinary Level) Examination. (It is mandatory that five (05)
subjects should have been passed in one sitting)

Should have had at least six (06) months training in propagation of
plants through budding process at a training institute of the Department of
Agriculture or at any other reputed institute and that should be proved with
a certificate issued before 20.11.2013.

Bee Keeper

Should have received at least six (06) months training in bee keeping
through a course at a training institute of the Department of Agriculture or
at any other reputed institute and that should be proved with a certificate
issued before 20.11.2013.

5. Service
Conditions
These positions are permanent and pensionable. Service
conditions will be decided as per the approved recruitment procedures.
6. Salary
Scale :
Monthly salary scale applicable to this position as
per the Public Administration Circular No. 06/2006 (iv) is Rs.
12,210-10x130-10x145-10x160-12x170 -18,600
7. Method of
Recruitment
Arrangements will be made to
recruit after qualified applicants are subjected to a structured interview.
8. Method of
Applying :
Application should be prepared
using both sides of the A4 size (21x23cm) paper as per the specimen application
given at the bottom of this advertisement. Duly perfected applications should
be sent by registered post addressed to "Secretary, Ministry of
Agriculture, Post Box 566, Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha, Colombo 07" to
receive before 20.11.2013. Separate applications should be submitted for each
post. The caption "Recruitment for the vacancies of Budder Grade III / Bee
Keeper Grade III positions of the Department of Agriculture, Western Province -
2014" should be mentioned on the left-hand top corner of the envelope
containing the application. (Applicants who are presently in government / local
government permanent service should direct their applications through the heads
of their departments). Late applications will be rejected without any
intimation. Applications will not be acknowledged.
The right for appointment of
applicants who have been found to be not fulfilling the required qualifications
at the time of examining of qualifications will be cancelled. The decision of
the Secretary, Western Provincial Ministry of Agriculture is final regarding
