The Sri Lanka batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan has decided retire from Test matches after an 87-match career. He is 36 years old and made his highest Test score of 193 not out as captain in the drawn Test against England at Lord's in 2011.
He has played 87 Tests and scored 5,492 runs at a modest average of 40.98. He has scored 16 Test centuries and 23 fifties at a strike rate of 65.54.
Dilshan made his Test debut in November 1999, in a series against Zimbabwe, and has been a familiar presence in the Sri Lanka team since. He made his 16th Test hundred against Bangladesh in March.
He tad taken 39 wickets in test matched and best bowling was 10/4.
