Trainee Banking Assistant
Required Qualifications:
Pass 6 subjects in G. C. E. Ordinary Level with at least 5 credit passes including Mother Language (Sinhala/Tamil), Mathematics and English Language obtained at one sitting.
And
Pass in G.C. E. Advanced Level with 3 passes (excluding General English and General Knowledge) obtained at one sitting. However, having passed in General English will be considered as an added advantage.
Preference will be given to those who posses knowledge on computer applications
Age: Not more than 22 years as at the closing date of the applications
Selection Procedure: The knowledge of shortlisted candidates will be tested by written examination, conducted by Department of Examination of Sri Lanka which will comprise with following subjects/papers.
Subject Medium
Language (testing of working knowledge of English) English
Analytical Skills/IQ Sinhala, Tamil or English
General Knowledge Sinhala, Tamil or English
Candidates who meet the stipulated standards at the said examination will be called over for one or more interviews.
Under this scheme candidates will be selected on district basis and they should serve in the relevant district.Training and Placement:
The appointees will be required to undergo a period of two years training covering all aspects of banking. Six monthly assessments will be carried out during training period of two years. Those who complete training of two years successfully will be absorbed in to the permanent cadre of Banking Assistant Gr. III (Salary Grade IX (a) and placed on the initial salary step of the salary scale of Rs.16,995-200x20-20,995/- per month.
Probation Period:
Confirmation will be subject to probation period of one year (which compute after the training period of two years) and evaluation of performance during the probation period. Confirmation will be considered after producing the certificate on completion of Certificate in Banking and Finance (CBF) of IBSL or equivalent qualification from recognized professional body.
Remuneration:
Trainees will be paid a fixed monthly allowance of Rs 15,000 (all inclusive) during two years training period under contract basis.
