Recruitment to the post of
Technician
Applications are hereby
invited from the citizens of Sri Lanka, having under noted qualifications to
carry out the works of Vehicular emission Testing Programme, implemented under
the provisions of the Motor Traffic Act of the Department of Motor Traffic and
selected candidates will be appointed to perform the duties such as on the spot
vehicular emission tests, supervision of vehicular emission testing centers
etc. attached to the Vehicular Emission Testing Project Office.
1. Educational Qualifications :
Should have passed the G.C.E*
(Ordinary Level) Examination in six subjects in not more than two sittings with
at least two credit passes.
2. Professional / Vocational Qualifications :
I. Should have successfully
followed and completed four year full time motor mechanism (Automobile
Technology) course at the Ceylon-German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI)
OR
IL Should have followed and
successfully completed the full-time four year motor Mechanism (Automobile
Technology) (Auto Technician) Course at the Orugodawatta Automobile Engineering
Training Institute
OR
III* Should have obtained a
competency certificate of National Vocational Qualifications (N,VQ.)
(Automobile Technology) Level 4 or not below that level, issued by a Technical
/ Vocational Training Institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education
Commission, relevant to Motor Mechanism / (Auto Technician) course.
3. Experience :
Priority will be given to
those applicants having at least one year experience in the relevant field in
this trade / in the vehicular emission field.
4. Age Limit :
Should be between 18 and 30 years of age.
5. Monthly Salary :
Initial
Monthly Salary of first year : Rs. 12,470.00 + Rs. 10,000.00 (allowance)
Initial Monthly Salary of the second year : Rs. 12,600.00 + Rs. 10,000.00
(allowance)
0. Nature of the Post / Posts :
This post is empowered for a
period of 2 years* under contract basis. Your service will be terminated after
the period of contract, compulsorily. Contract period may be considered to be
extended further upon satisfactory service of the employee and the needs of the
service.
